Arid environment is what greets you when you decide to visit the North of Kenya. An area not well favored by mother nature in terms of its annual rainfall sit stuck in time as the world speeds around it. What's with this region of Kenya ? Why the neglect !
Is it the naivetyof the locals , is the government marginalizing them. Why is it so underdeveloped, neglected and it closely resembles a fallen state. A visitor may think they are still in1960 or easily assume they aren't in Kenya.
Before we point fingers and start the blame game , we have to understand the African Mindset of Sadism.
The North Frontier District isn't neglected, neither is it marginalized. The counties there are well funded and billions allocated to them each fiscal financial year. But the culture of playing victim, collective sadism and beggary leads them to be complecet in their own demise .
Majority have been subjected to crazy amount of pain and problems that they live in that trauma . Suffering is so common and normal that their perspective tends to shift into believing a life of economic freedom isn't real. Life blinds and folds them into a shelve of self hate and denial. Chronic sadism, the people hate themselves and everything about themselves. They literally have got nothing to live for anymore.
Such people become gullible and blissful ignorant to everything around them. They will reject or show no interest to any form of change, they all will embrace a new form of destructive selfishness that supersceeds normal reasoning.
Their elected leaders will prefer investing elsewhere with the county funds . The people will cheer them on since majority are broken and don't believe in economic freedom. They don't belive they can make a difference or bring any form of change. It's sadism, they hate themselves, and anyone who has a different ideology.
Noone speaks up when the county funds are looted or stolen . Very few really care, majority don't believe in funds, theydon't belive they can change their predicaments, they have surrendered to fate and they live by fate everyday.
Their leaders understand how broken and gullible they are. They understand their insecurities and weaknesses. They want them stuck in their perpetual cycle of hopeless and sadism. Aslong asthey are stuck there, they are distracted and with the national government not mandating and enforcing county oversight, the elected officials get to get away with economic terrorism. They invest in what distracts and divides their people the most. They keep them trapped in tribal bigotry and religious fanatics completely out of touch with reality.
As the world advances, the winds keeps blowing dust in Northern Kenya. Everyone is guilty here , from the locals , to the National Government, to the county government. They all failed each other . Let's talk , comment below , what's your North Kenya Perspective...
